Why does change seem to be so challenging for many of us? Well, here’s my point of view; change is death in a sense, and as humans that’s the most frightening thing we can experience. However, for our soul, it’s the most exciting. Change is natural, there’s a constant death and re-birth happening in, through and all around us. By trying to stop the flow of change, we often get sick, depressed, tired, etc. because we’re stopping the natural progression for our souls growth and evolution.

Here’s my personal experience; at age 15 I was diagnosed with anorexia. I was determined to stop the process of life. I didn’t want to grow up, I didn’t want to become a woman and have a woman’s body and I didn’t want to change. My energy became stagnant and I lived the same day every day. What do you mean you might ask? Well, I woke up at the same time every morning, ate the same foods at the same time every day, exercised for hours between meals and then went to bed. This was how I lived my life for over 23 years. I wanted to change consciously, but something inside of me felt more powerful to stay the same, that something was frightened of letting go, changing and “growing up.”

How did I finally break this cycle you might be wondering? It’s been a process of becoming my own best friend, which helped me to feel safe with me. How did I start to feel safe with me? By allowing myself to feel, which lead me to my unconscious deals. By going to the core of the issue, and yes, I used a lot of tissues. I was able to see that the way I was living wasn’t the real me. However, my life didn’t change overnight, two steps forward and one step back was how I started changing my beliefs and the “facts.” Today I LOVE myself and I flow easily and naturally with the seasons of change.

Am I still learning and growing, you betcha, we all are eh? It’s through the allowance of change that we “get to” learn, grow and expand. I get excited when new things come into my life. I LOVE when I get new ideas about projects and move into creation mode. I LOVE trying new foods and going on new adventures, places I’ve never been, I LOVE meeting new people, seeing new clients and sharing new ideas and inspiration that flows from my inner BEIng. I’ve finally let go of needing approval from “others” to BE me, it’s very freeing and happened by feeling safe with me and LOVING myself unconditionally.

We each have our own idea of what “safety” means. Most of us want to feel safe before we make a change, or we don’t want to change because we think that the way that we’re living is “safe” even if it isn’t serving our highest good.

At first, safety to me meant controlling my food, weight, outer circumstance and believe it or not, acting out in destructive ways towards myself. As I began to heal by noticing the things that I was frightened of, and seeing them in a new light, I started feeling more peaceful inside. By bringing LOVE, compassion and understanding to the parts that were hurting inside, LOVE became my safety and LOVE is now where I confide.

To me true safety resides within, if we don’t feel safe with ourselves, we’ll never truly feel safe with others or in the world. Most often when we get in relationships our walls go up, or we already have walls up and we attract others who do too, why, this is an unconscious reaction from not feeling safe with ourselves, get it?

If we don’t feel safe or LOVED within, we’ll try to create some way to feel safe and LOVED in the world. We might start doing drugs, drinking alcohol, eating an excess amount of food, or we might chase after people, places, money and things and try to control our situations, not realizing that this only keeps us from finding/feeling true LOVE and safety. If you’re one of these people, it’s okay, I get it, I lived this way too. Awareness is always the first step then we can see where we can correct.

Most of us were taught from others how we should be in order to feel safe and LOVED. By becoming aware of our conditioning, we can see if it aligns with our inner BEing. The trick here is to let go of what we were taught and the beliefs that we bought. This might not be easy, because again, it’s become “safe” for us to live the ways that we’ve been living and because of this, most often resistance arises. Why is this, because there’s a part of us that becomes fearful, why, because that part of us will die. If we’re attached to beliefs, people, places, situations or an identity, whether it’s serving us or not, we’re not open to the moment where the flow and magic happens. The universe LOVES us and wants to support us in living our full potential and enjoy our life experience. The problem is that we get in the way by trying to control, thinking that “we know better.” Ya, this works eh? maybe it does for you, it hasn’t for me.

So, how do we flow with change and become willing to let our life re-arrange?
The very first step is looking at your behaviors and notice how they’ve been your savior. How has it served you to do the things that you do? What purpose does it have for you?
Is there another way that you can meet your needs that will help you let go of your rigidity?
Break up your routine, if you shower in the evening, shower in the morning.
If you sleep on a certain side of the bed, sleep on the other side and alternate it every night.
If you sit in a certain place to eat your meals, sit in a different chair or a different room.
Eat your meal with the hand that you don’t normally eat with.
Do something or many things that “scares” you.
Do something meaningless like fold, unfold and fold a towel for about 5 minutes. Ya, I know sounds ridiculous right? However, what you’re doing is you’re taking your power back. If you don’t, then your automatic mind will continue to take over. Here’s the deal, anything we continuously do, we’re programming our mind/body to do it automatically, forming a habit. If you want to be free, re-program your mind/body in a way that there’s no program guiding you today. How do we do this, live in the moment, open your heart and mind, switch up your routine and connect with the light of your inner BEing. Some routines might be beneficial for you, for those, keep them, but also tweak them, get rid of rigidity and controlling your reality. Heal what needs to be healed inside so you can truly be free on this earthly ride.

Once your subconscious get’s evidence that you’re okay, it will allow change to happen more easily and naturally. Just a note though, things might not work out the way you planned them to, and they might, there’s always a gift/lesson/blessing in every experience we have. So when I say okay, this is what I mean, Get it?

BEing willing to change takes courage and sometimes it’s helpful to get support from someone who understands what’s going on at a deeper level. Most often when we’re in “it” it’s all that we know and it can be challenging to shift our perspectives and point of view. I’ve had assistance from many wonderful healers in the physical as well as from the unseen, my Angels, guides, god, the divine BEings of LOVE and light who work with me and from my inner BEing. I would be delighted to assist you in creating a feeling of safety and LOVE within and moving from your conditioning into the light of your inner BEing.

You can do this, I believe in YOU and I LOVE YOU
